European Vacation - Stop 2, Paris

Paris, oh Paris, I don't even know where to begin. To say I fell in love with this city would be an understatement, but I'll start from the beginning.

The second stop on our European vacation was Paris. We were taking the Chunnel Train from London to Paris and by this time Margaret and I had mastered the Tube (metro/bus) system in London, so we packed up our bags and took the Tube to the train station. We got to Paris and we were a little overwhelmed so just like we did in London, we took a cab from the train station to our hotel, but this time it was much cheaper.
Once we had settled into our hotel we only had about half a day to explore, but it was my birthday and I was determined to celebrate in style. We took the metro (which was very easy to navigate just like in London) to the square near the Moulin Rouge. Our first stop was a Parisian bakery, where we enjoyed macaroons, and then we settled into a quaint cafe on the square for pizza, creme brulee and a glass of wine. We continued my birthday celebration at the bars nears the Moulin Rouge, where I met a really cute boy. I guess you can say I had a "French" kiss, in Paris, on my 25th birthday. What else did you expect from the City of Love?
We made an effort to pack every single tourist stop into our second day in Paris. We had a picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower, saw Notre Dame, the Louvre Museum, Arc de Triomphe, and Lovelock bridge. We sat at a cafe and enjoyed crepes and wandered the streets just soaking up the architecture and beautiful scenery.

The architecture is amazing, and all of the buildings are so well preserved. I fell in love with the balconies, tress, and rivers that make up the scenery. I could spend weeks wandering that city and have put it at the top of my list for places I want to visit again, and soon.

So many people have warned me about Paris. Telling me things like "The French are so mean, they hate Americans!" or "If you don't speak French you're going to be lost." Well, I'm here to tell you that we didn't experience any of those stereotypes. The people were extremely friendly, and although Margaret and I only speak minimal French, everyone was more than willing to help us when we asked questions in our broken French/English. Don't let what you hear stop you from visiting Paris because I'm telling you, the city is magical. Paris, Je T'aime.
The final stop on our vacation was Rome...

I have the EXACT same photo from Moulin Rouge!!!!! Did you watch the show? I'm glad to see that you had beautiful weather, too. I went in November a couple of years back and I look like a wet dog in all of our photos because it was pouring lol

It was really very nice to see two beautiful girls in world’s most romantic tourist city. You images are exploring beauty of Paris and content is also much informative. I also currently planning a Europe itinerary with my wife and Paris is also there in my trip plan. I am too excited about my tour.
