I'm Celebrating 25 in Europe

If you've been reading Just Bri for a while then you've probably noticed that I've had a bit of wanderlust lately. I've been looking for opportunities to just pack up and go, and I've been itching to explore the world. My best friend Margaret and I were doing a bit of daydreaming over the weekend, and started planning a European escape for sometime in the spring. Now daydreaming, talking, and planning is one thing, but actually doing it? Well that's another.

When I opened my email Tuesday morning the first thing I saw was a Groupon for an eight day European vacation. I sent it to Margaret in a semi-serious semi-dreaming mindset, and immediately got a response saying "Let's do it!"

So what did we do? We just booked an eight day trip to London, Paris, and Rome. We leave in March and the best part is that I get to celebrate my 25th birthday in Paris. What better way to celebrate a quarter of a century than with your best friend in Paris!

We'll spend two days in London, two days in Paris, and two days in Rome. I'm a bit nervous because the only thing our trip covers is airfare and hotels, so it's going to be up to us to create some sort of itinerary for the days we're there.

I can't wait to explore these three cities that I've never been to but I've always wanted to visit, and the fact that I get to do it with my best friend is just the icing on the cake!

This is where I need YOUR help. If you've been to London, Paris, or Rome, please send me all of your travel tips! Do you have any advice for traveling through Europe? Anything we should stay away from or anything that might make our trip a bit easier? Send them my way, it would be  much appreciated!

This is going to be the trip of a lifetime! I went to Europe for a few months about a decade ago and it was the best experience I've ever had! I can't wait to hear all about your adventures; what a way to ring in your new year :-)

You two are going to have the time of your lives!! Definitely have Indian food in London. It's the BEST in the world supposedly. If can you get reservations (I'd ask your hotel to call and book) eat at Felice A Testaccio in Rome and get the tonnarelli cacio e pepe. It's a Roman dish they make at your table and it's AMAZING. We did the hop off hop on buses in both Rome and London and the one in Rome was a huge pain. If they aren't busy in the spring I think it's a good way to get around but if they are busy you can end up wasting hours trying to get back on the bus. If you're ambitious I would try to do a lot of the touristy stuff one day in london (parliament, big ben, buckingham palace, westminster abbey...they're all close to eachother and walkable) and do a day tour to stonehenge, bath, windsor castle, and lacock the second day. That was my favorite part of my london trip by far. It would be a lot to do in two days though. Those are just my tips. Can't wait to hear about it!!

pay to go into Westminster Abby while you are in London. it is worth it. I would even say pay for the tour if you are interested even a little bit in history at all! I loved it. and spent the whole day there!!

Also, while in London eat at PRET. It is a cute, cheep, healthy, and delicious place to grab breakfast and lunch! Seriously. It is also great to stop there for some food to take on a picnic somewhere else in town!

Also, if you are up for it, walk. It saves so much money and you notice all the little things on the way :)

This is awesome!! I also spent 25 in Europe [Paris on my bday], so I highly recommend it :) I've been to London and Rome as well, and you'll love them!! Flying in Europe is super cheap if you want to use that option. edreams.net is a great site for buying plane tickets. I have lots of random tidbits to share, so email me if you have any specific questions!! :)

I'm French and for Paris I recommend you to take the "Paris visite travel card" for two days (17,15 €). You will have bus/trains/subway for free for two days + museums benefits.
Chek out that website http://www.transilien.com/ (offical subway Paris website)
For shopping, you can go around the Saint-Lazare train station (Galeries Lafayette), on the Champs-Elysées, or in the Rivoli street (subway Saint-Paul).
For museums, the Eiffel Tower of course (but there is a lot of people waiting for !) with a beautiful garden, the Louvre...
For dinner, there is http://www.thefork.com/ with good parisian restaurants (with 50% benefits)
