It's time for another beauty battle. This week, the battle is between two very different types of dry shampoo. I'm comparing the Suave dry shampoo spray, and Oscar Blandi dry shampoo powder.
The biggest thing to notice between the two brands is the price difference. I've found the Suave shampoo at stores like Walgreens and Target for around $3, and bought the Oscar Blandi shampoo at Ulta for a little over $20.
The Suave shampoo comes in a spray bottle like hairspray while the Oscar Blandi shampoo is in powder form. The Suave version smelled fantastic, and sprayed on evenly without leaving any residue or white looking powder on my hair. I really feel like it added tons of volume and soaked up excess oil. The Oscar Blandi shampoo was a bit trickier. You have to put the powder in your palms and then rub it through your hair. I didn't see any added volume, and I don't feel like it worked to remove excess oil. It also left a gross white film on my scalp and in my hair.
I tried both dry shampoos after one day of not washing my hair. While the Suave shampoo was good, wouldn't expect to have the same results if I went longer than one day. Also, even though I had some white powder after using Oscar Blandi, it could be because I have dark hair and might work better on blondes.
My verdict? Save the $15+ and go with Suave. It smells fantastic, and leaves your hair looking fresh not powdery, for a much lower cost than Oscar Blandi. I'm a fan, and know I can put that money I saved to good use!
