The Importance of Loving Yourself

I spent a large portion of this weekend thinking, something I haven't had a whole lot of time to do these past few months. Not just thinking, but really reflecting. Reflecting about this past year, what I've done, where I've been, what I've learned, and where I'm going next (what my goals are).

One of the things I realized,  is how important it is to know who you are at this moment, what the things are that make you happy, what you enjoy, and what makes you unique. This knowledge shouldn't be something you use to brag, but rather something that empowers you, and pushes you to reach all of your goals.

With the help of some Pinterest inspiration below, I've decided to post some of the things about myself that I love, that inspire me, and that make me unique.

{1} I value my ability to be independent. This trait helped me when I had to move to Daytona, where I knew no one. It has also helped me in my love life. A lot of girls I know from college are getting engaged and married but my independence has allowed me to not settle for someone I know isn't right.

{2} My ability to love greatly. Sometimes this leads to hurt or heartbreak, but you learn so much from others when you try to love them as much as you love yourself.

{3} My unwavering faith. I know that nothing is possible without my faith and trust in God.

{4} I'm so proud to be able to say I'm a Latina and I've learned that one of my biggest assets is being bilingual.

{5} I'm a dreamer. This could be seen as a greatest weakness but I've realized it's one of my greatest strengths. I've always allowed myself to dream big, and most of the time it allows me to reach goals I never thought possible.

What are some of your greatest assets? I'd love to hear what you love about yourself!

this is a great post! You should link it up on for the love of blogs, it's perfect for their new Monday series. I am so jealous you are bilingual - I so wish I could speak Spanish!! Learning has been quite the challenge for me, so I kind of gave up. Maybe some day :).

Hi Bri! These are great. I think it's also important to remember that figuring out who you are is never a complete process, as we are all growing and learning with each additional year. Even well into our elderly years :)

You have many, many strengths!! Good for you - going and getting the life you want. #1 on your list IS SO GREAT that you understand the value in it. Live the life that's best for YOU. Smart, chica! I always loved the quote "If you ship doesn't come in, swim out to it." Good for you - looks like you're swimming out to get what you want. :)

I love this post. One of my favorite quotes is actually "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are" from E.E. Cummings.
I love that you're discovering all these things about yourself and loving them! Not everyone can do that - so that's a great gift to have as well!

I'm reading your site for the first time tonight and think this post is great! I think it's so important to know who you are and be confident in that. As you say it helps you in obtaining goals and your path in life. I agree as well that you need God in your life as well!
